In PwC’s Sustainability and Climate Change practice, within their Risk Assurance Services, they work with some of the world’s largest and most complex companies to understand their unique business issues and opportunities in an ever changing environment. They help create sustainable change by stimulating innovation, unlocking data possibilities, navigating risk and regulatory complexity, optimising deals, and aligning costs with business strategy to create a competitive advantage.
Sustainability and climate change are at the top of the agenda for many organizations, but many are at different stages in understanding how they should respond. As part of the team, you’ll help clients balance competing economic, social and environmental goals. They offer services to both public and private sector clients across a range of specialist subject areas. Their established team includes economists, natural scientists, engineers, finance and accounting professionals – working with some of the world’s leading organisations towards an economy with purpose.
Due to continued strong demand for services, they are looking to strengthen the team across the following areas: Corporate Strategy: Risk & Reporting, Climate Change and Net Zero Strategies, Supply Chain and Impact Analytics, and Sustainable Finance and Responsible Investing. As part of this application process, you’ll be asked which of the four practice areas you’d be interested in.
What you’ll create and do
As a Senior Manager or Director, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Help clients seize essential advantages by working alongside business leaders to solve their toughest problems and capture their greatest opportunities
- Advise clients on policy and strategy, addressing changing regulations and consumer preferences, security of supply chains, climate risk, sustainable finance and responsible investing
- Lead or support sales efforts aligned to a specific practise area
- Manage client consulting engagements over their life-cycle
- Motivate and guide engagement teams, bringing analytical skills and specialist knowledge to our world-class client base
- Support internal and external thought leadership
- Contribute to proposals and other business development activities
What you’ll bring to this role
- An interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work
- A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences, developing and coaching diverse teams, and ensuring diverse perspectives are heard
- Substantive professional experience in any relevant sector including consulting, finance, business, government or NGOs
- Proven success to effectively meet sales targets
- Corporate Strategy and Risk & Reporting: Ability to analyze strategic, operational, risk and financial implications of sustainability trends and translate these into commercial impact is essential, including the use and/or interpretation of scenario modelling techniques
- Climate Scenario, Net Zero, Sustainable Supply Chain and Impact Analytics: Applied experience of economic, social and environmental impact measurement and valuation combined with strong data science, econometrics and modelling skills. Capable to extract insight from analytical outputs and produce clear strategic recommendations
- Sustainable Finance and Responsible Investing: considerable experience in private equity, infrastructure investment, structuring or managing funds, blended or impact finance in emerging and frontier markets
- Commercial acumen and strong programme and project management skills
- Critical thinking, intellectual curiosity and problem solving abilities
- Ability to lead and work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams
- Exceptional commitment to providing excellent client service, by building and maintaining productive relationships with both internal and external clients
- Strong personal initiative, agility and resourcefulness
- Excellent oral and verbal communication skills
- Based in Calgary but will be expected to support work assignments across Canada
