The Dresden Nexus Conference (DNC) is an international conference series dedicated to advancing research and the implementation of a “Nexus Approach” to resource management. By bringing together actors from a diverse range of disciplines and sectors, DNC fosters dialogue on how nexus thinking contributes to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Happening virtually this year, the third Dresden Nexus Conference (DNC2020) will take place 3–5 June 2020 under the theme “Circular Economy in a Sustainable Society”. Dresden is one of Germany’s most dynamic cities; the capital of Saxony is known for its indomitably pioneering approach, advancements in high technology, and strong research landscape.
DNC2020 aims to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable economy by focusing on identifying and discussing the concepts that nexus thinking offers to support the transition towards a circular economy. A Nexus Approach shares many synergies with the concept of a circular economy – a system that eliminates waste, keeps resources in use, and contributes to regenerating natural systems.
The DNC2020 will now take place in a virtual format and will provide:
